Homelab & Tech Projects

PFsense/OPNsense
OPNsense firewall on a repurposed Dell thin client (with a 3D-printed rack bracket), fronting Cisco switching. Modem → OPNsense → managed switch, with VLANs, proper firewall rules, and monitoring.

Virtualization
Docker and WSL2 hosting the full homelab stack: NetBox as network source of truth, Semaphore for Ansible orchestration, Grafana + Telegraf + InfluxDB monitoring, self-hosted GitLab with GitHub mirroring, and LM Studio serving local AI models. An enterprise analog for security, file services, and NetDevOps practice.

CAD
Creating tools and useful things around the shop and house — server rack brackets, parts for CNC, and custom fixtures. If the right part doesn’t exist, I design it.
3D Printing
Usually also relating to CAD but sometimes just printing fun stuff or downloaded designs
Cabling & Physical Layer
Structured cabling work over the years. Ethernet, fiber, and RF. Clean runs, proper terminations, and documentation.
